Re: Any help?

Hey Versus - we replied to your application about a week ago. Sometimes our emails get caught in people's spam filters, I'm not sure why.

I've sent it again - check your spam folder as well!

Re: Any help?

Hi Versus,

We're always looking for new team members, and we have tasks both big and small.
Send us an email at general@starryexpanse.com and tell us about yourself, and if possible share some examples of your work.

Thanks.

Re: Video interview with Robyn and Richard VW

It's odd that this kind of interview hasn't happened already, but the original Myst's legacy tends to overshadow. Riven isn't discussed as much as it should be, because as much as it refined the genre (arguably the best of its kind) it didn't break new ground in the way Myst did. An interesting idea...

Yep! It's always been on the list of things we'd like to implement (although it's not quite there yet).

Re: Could a Zip mode be technically possible?

Definitely possible. As you guessed there would be a noticeable pause between zip nodes if you're moving between large areas. It wouldn't be anywhere near as bad as 1 second on a modern PC, though.

Re: Riven anniversay special treat?

Hey Aloys,

20 years! What a milestone for Cyan and the fandom.
We don't have anything major planned for a reveal on the 31st, but we do have a few surprises up our sleeve. You'll have to wait and see.

Re: Wahrk counting game dimentions?

No higher resolution image exists as far as I am aware, we're stuck with the game files for that one.

Our version may seem bigger. We created it by camera matching, using a default player height of (roughly) 6ft.

Make sure you share some pictures as your model comes along, we'd love to see it!

Re: Wahrk counting game dimentions?

Hi Peter.

Thanks for the kind words!

This is the highest resolution image we have of the Counting Toy, It's from the dvd version of Riven.
I've attached some measurements (cm) from our version, I hope they prove useful.

Re: Mountains with caves

Hi eon, The terrain you saw in the Mysterium video was created in Maya using its sculpting tools. This allowed us to do the complex concave shapes you see in the demo. Kelly was talking about our new efforts to recreate that terrain using Unreal's terrain system. We're doing this for a few reasons; ...
