Re: Features You like to see
Most codes in Myst games don't change so I don't see why this one should. Many codes in Riven are randomized. If I remember correctly, it's the ones for the telescope hatch, the linking domes, and the Prison Island elevator cage. There are of course also codes/solutions that are always the same, li...

Re: Errors in Riven
It's been a while since I played Riven, but I don't see any inconsistencies here. As I understand it, none of the paths are below sea level. The water that you pass through in the golden elevator is not part of the sea, it's a small indoor "pond" that's suspended by heat, and the elevator ...

Re: Answering your day/night cycle questions
As for weather, Riven is a tropical island if I'm not mistaken. It would seem weird to me to include light rain storms. It seems to be the kind of environment I would think is eternally sunny like the pacific islands. Agreed. Considering Riven's water has weird properties, rain might not even fall ...

Re: Writing Ages
Ages are essentially parallel universes. There's the whole star fissure thing though - that may at first make it seem like ages are just planets, but the star fissure doesn't go through the entire planet and out the other side or anything. It's more of a connection between the parallel universes, or...

Re: Writing Ages
The D'ni generally saw writing ages as merely creating a link to one of the ages in the infinite great tree of possibilities. Gehn for example thought that he created his ages, rather than linking to already existing ones, which is why he considers himself like a god to age natives. As I understand ...

Re: Linking into two ages at once?
Which age you end up in though... I'd think it would be not which you touched first, but which you touched last! Interesting theory, didn't think of that before, but it sounds entirely plausible that you can link multiple times at once. I wouldn't read too much into the linking "wave" ani...

Re: What Lore based Easter Eggs would you like to see?
Huh, is there some kind of lore that tells where Prison Island is located in relation to the other islands? (Getting off on a tangent here, but) I'm very interested, 'cause I was under the impression PRISL was basically in an unknown location, just super far away from the other islands. That's just...

Re: Linking into two ages at once?
"Hey, that's my explorer!" "No, he touched me first!" "No he didn't, I saw it myself!" "And what makes you think you're right?" "I'm older than you!" "How does that make you any better than me ?" "Why do you Linking Books never underst...
