Re: Plothole that's bugging me as I replay the Myst games
If I remember correctly, (It's been a long time since I read the novels,) while Gehn was teaching Atrus in D'ni, Atrus was also studying some surviving Books. And while Gehn was experimenting with all sorts of hacks in his worlds, Atrus was being much more simple and safe. They got into a fight wher...

Re: Anyone Read The Myst Novels?
Does anybody know how nice the hardcover versions are? I've had the paperbacks for like 10 years but someday my dream is to, idk, get my books signed by Rand Miller, or one of the contributing authors...! And I'd like to have nice copies for that, if it ever comes to pass. I really love the hardcov...

Re: Real Riven, real characters?
Gehn just wouldn't be Gehn if he's not played by John Keston. I agree that the original performance should be used if at all possible. That was my primary problem with RealMyst; Atrus' performance was different than that of my childhood, even if it was a lot crisper.

I'll put in a list too if I may, although I think I'll only make it a top ten, otherwise we'll be here all day. <snip> At first, I was very confused about your mysterious symbols. And then I was like: "OHHHHHH...." Riven is my favorite. In fact, it's probably my favorite world from any ga...

Re: Your history with Myst.
Myst came out when I was three. Dad would play it and I'd watch, though I don't remember much of that original experience. However, I remember Riven vividly. We got it Christmas 1997, and I remember being very sick and generally feeling awful. Then I saw that Tay box art for the first time, and my d...

Re: Anyone Read The Myst Novels?
I have BoA in both hard and paperback, BoT in hardcover, and BoD in paperback.
BoA is by far my favorite of the three. Gehn is just such a fascinating character.

What are y'all's favorite moments in the Myst games?
One that always stands out to me particularly, is when you solve the animal puzzle in the Moiety caves. The ripple effect, the sound, the music, it amazes me every time I play through that part.
