Re: Node-based Movement
In my opinion switching the real-time render with image stills would be a pretty useless feature that not many people would use. Comparisons can be made easily on the site with screenshots (and might be more interesting then switching them ingame instead of actually playing the game). Furthermore, i...

Re: Anyone Read The Myst Novels?
I got my myst reader paperback a few weeks ago and I've already read the book of Atrus and I loved it. Now reading the Book of Ti'ana. It sucks that those books aren't available in my country and I had to buy them from someone who charged a bit more... Still worth every cent.

Re: Gehn's office
Well, as I see it each has good and bad sides. For example, the starry expanse one has better shading on the metal objects, and you can actually see the outside in that view, which is a bonus. However, the columns and the marble look worse, since they do not seem to reflect anything. I'd still go wi...

Re: Writing Ages
for actually writing the age, I think it's less of "there's a mountain here, a tree here, etc." but more of a combination of idea and concepts, a "feeling" of the age." Like in Myst 3 when Atrus writes that "Balanced systems stimulate civilization" and "Dynam...

Starry Expanse Forum Signaure
Hello there folks and devs of the Starry Expanse Project! I have made a little something to help with the popularity of this project - A project signature/banner. Just take this picture, put it in your forum signature on whatever forum you wish and add a link to the main project site (http://www.sta...

Re: Writing Ages
Yeah, that all makes sense, but one more question: If all the ages already exist somewhere, are they in the same universe, like, different distant planets, or are they completely different universes? And if they're different universes wouldn't that mean that physics and stuff like that should be dif...

Writing Ages
The Myst series got me thinking, how exactly does writing ages work? I mean, sure it creates a new world by the vision of the writer, but does it really? Since some of the ages written by Atrus do have civilizations on them which do have a past (which is either "generated" when writing the...

Character Models
I am a bit curious, how are you going to do the character models throughout the game (Catherine, Atrus, Villagers, Gehn etc), since, being a modeler myself, I know that kind of thing is extremely hard to recreate and match (I am quite horrible at character models), and even if you do manage to recre...
