Re: The Great Bridge of Riven

There are some other ideas that we've come up with for making areas like this more bearable. Another such area is the pipe the player crawls through on boiler island - this involves a few clicks in complete (or nearly complete) darkness. Fine in a point-and-click, but in realtime we're afraid the p...

The Great Bridge of Riven

Everyone knows which bridge I'm talking about I'm sure, but for the 2 that don't, I mean the one from boiler island to temple island. The one that looks about 1 1/2km long. In the original game you get across it in about 2 or 3 clicks, but obviously that isn't going to be an option here. What are yo...

Re: What Lore based Easter Eggs would you like to see?

I don't know... maybe if there was wood pulp messed about it or something so that it's obvious what it was? On the other hand, I always thought that the fact that you could fire up the woodchipper meant that it must be used for something too, but of course it's not used either. I think ultimately, p...

If you included Gehn's chair, you would have to work out where to put the rest of that office as well, otherwise it would look out of place in his lab on Crater island.

Re: The Myst Ages From Best to Worst!

I'll put in a list too if I may, although I think I'll only make it a top ten, otherwise we'll be here all day. |ᴖ| Narayan , well this is definitely an age that would rank higher if it wasn't so damn small! This age is just as if not more out there as Spire, and it really pulls it off a lot better,...

Re: What Lore based Easter Eggs would you like to see?

God, how big a game would have Riven been if it had had those extra ages! It already went onto 5 CDs! KellyCosten said in response to my post on the subject of the East Path on the dev form that they quote "want to include other areas" but are focusing on finished the main game first. So i...

Re: Ray tracing

The hard one looks like it would be the kettle one, as the water has to float up to the top as well in real time. Having said that, I always feel that in the original game that animation felt too thick, like it was gel rather than water.

Re: Tay

I wouldn't want to walk around Tay anyway. There is no way that it could ever live up to the expectations that are built up about it.

The old Moiety Hideout on the other hand, you could see where they were camped, and see signs of where they defied Gehn, that seems far more interesting to me.
