I think theyre recreating scene by scene into some modeling and rendering software , so its like creating it from zero.

If the various game engines didn't keep screwing them over, they would've been done by now.

Yea it is alot of work. If your familure at all with softwares such as Blender, 3DS Max, or others, its no simple task. Yes, all the Myst games are all existing games, but the above comment is correct. they are taking a game from ages ago, and having to completely rebuild it from the ground up in todays development software.
